Stayed a lovely night at a bnb near the volcano national park. Peter and Kathleen who own the place have 4 amazing rooms immersed in nature. Quite beautiful! Check www.volcanoretreat.com. I then headed back down to Hilo to catch a helicopter ride with Captain curry, www.safarihelicopters.com, which was super informative and all over the lava beds and active crater. 2 hour wait and I was on a plane to Maui, the last island I will visit in Hawaii. Rented a bigger white cargo van than I have on the mainland, cheesiest way to go. Cruised to pick up my friend Kathy and head to meet her husband drew and friends for karaoke and sushi! Uh, yeah! Full day of sites, sounds, and songs! Ready to tackle the east/south rim of Maui tomorrow! Photamerica
