DAY 54!!! Little rocks and hot springs!

Posted on: March 3rd, 2012 by joosy No Comments

Up early and hung around backing things up to the computer from Louisiana. Interviewed Karen who owns the BNB and she told me of living in Little Rock for the last 20 something years and working for Walmart as a developer of new stores for more than 25. She did have lots of wonderful things to say about the original days of the store but she had to leave 5 years ago for the reason that it was just to much. Upon the third presidents arrival the company just couldn’t keep up with it’s exponential growth and sadly everything changed. Sam Walton’s visionary company that was so focused on the customer and the person who worked at walmart , now just focused on numbers and how much money the company could make. After the interview I went back downtown to find occupiers and over the bridge to shoot steamboats and fun walkable bridges. Soon after that called Janet up and she went with me to Hot Springs which was about 45 minutes away and had a past with being what it is known for, hot springs, plus a summer vacation spot for gangsters. Robert, who owned and operated the Gangster Museum, gave us a tour and told me some great thoughts on America. What a beautiful place with really old buildings housing the baths mixed in with beautiful mountains and woods and a strip of fun things to do for kids and beyond. Found the sunset at the top of one of the mountains and got some barbecue before heading back to Little rock. Karen was so sweet and let me stay another night. Went out to bar with new friends and said goodbye and then went over to the white water tavern to check it out. got a little sauced on the good Arkansas beer . lovely day and night!
