DAY 62!!! St. Louis to Springfield!

Posted on: March 9th, 2012 by joosy No Comments

Up around 8am and backing up a couple of things while waiting on Nick to hit the city up once again. We went to get donuts (cheap amazing donuts) at the Worlds Fair Donut shop near the Botanical gardens and went for a stroll through the first buds of spring and into the tropical rain forest of the Climatron (one of a kind and all in St. Louis). St. Louis gets a bad rap for crime and sprawl and things relating to modern decay but this city is rich with things to do. I really like it. We took a stroll through two amazing parks, Tower park to start which was huge with amazing gazebos from different parts of the world and Forest Park which housed the World’s Fair in 1904. How amazing it looked and how temporary, they built everything out of material that was non sustainable and it is so sad, the park was transformed for that year and it looked about the size of disneyworld or larger! We visited the music box and art museum area and tried to see where everything was located from 100 years ago. So odd and lovely. Dropped Nick off to work and then went across town to meet up with Zach and Andy who were both very instrumental in getting occupy together in St. Louis. They both gave me very honest interpretations of what they thought was going on in America. I am if you haven’t noticed trying to talk to occupiers in every state because Photamerica is definitely a occupy movement on wheels! Then ran around town shooting the Budweiser brewery and cardinals stadium and other lovely buildings downtown. Ended up grabbing things and getting an oil change and eating some oysters and heading out to the cold cold dark of lower west Missouri. I ended the night in springfield at a market cafe catching up on work and going to sleep in the van at 2am. It was nearly 30 degrees outside. I can’t wait for spring!
